Passed away at home on January 19, 2019, Ted English, age 66 years. Predeceased by his parents Leo and Mary Anne English, sister Leona Bernadette, brother Gerard, and infant nieces Anne and Victoria. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife Gwen (Power), brothers and sisters Nora, Al (Denise), Molly (Jean Marc Velen), Sharon, Carmelita DePasquale (Michael), Anita Poirier (Dave), Basil (Madonna), Fr. Leo (CSsR), Leona, Virginia (David Day), Bruce, and sister-in-law Heather Yetman. Also leaving to mourn his father and mother-in-law Aloysius (crib buddy) and Florence Power and their family: Bev (Terry), Marie, Rob (Donna MacLeod), Brian, Lynn (Ron LeDrew) and Ian, his aunts Mary, Monica and Nora Manning, cherished nieces and nephews: Lee and Kerry English, Luke DePasquale, Sam Poirier, Nathan and Matthew English, Caelan and Shannon English, Jennifer, Ryan, and Colin Power, Allyson Power, Maggie and Malcolm Power, Milo Power, Scott, and Sam LeDrew. He will be missed by Ambrose Nash, his lifelong friend; Terry and Bev Power, his family and also the best of buddies; aunt Monica Manning, his friend and Tuesday lunch date; and a wide circle of extended family and friends. There was nowhere Ted would rather be than on The Corner or up in their summerhouse on The Hill in Branch, in the big meadow looking out on the cove. He loved talking to all he met along the road, cooking a big Sunday dinner, playing a good game of crib and taking a snooze in his chair. Special thanks to the staff of the Coronary Care Unit at the HSC and to all his health providers, especially the first responders who were compassionate and exemplified the best of their profession. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Monday and Tuesday, January 21 and 22, 2019, from 2-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Teresa’s Parish, Mundy Pond Road, at 11 am, Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Father Leo English, presiding. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment at Branch at a later date. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Gathering Place.
