It is with great sadness that after a short illness we the family of Sharon Morrison announce her passing at Sydney, on January 31, 2019.
She was the daughter of Ronald and Adelaide Clancy.
Sharon was a former teacher who had a passion for helping children with learning disabilities and special needs. She obtained her undergraduate degree and master’s in teaching degree from St. FX University in addition to a masters in English from Dalhousie University. In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting sea glass along the shores of various Cape Breton beaches. You could find her selling jewelry made from sea glass at local craft shows and markets. She also enjoyed line dancing, card socials, and spending time with her friends who she loved so dearly. Volunteer work was very important to her, with the Cape Breton Down Syndrome society being her favorite. She loved travelling to see her children, and cherished family time with her kids over Christmas and summer months, and dearly loved her second family, the LeVatte's (Lynn, Kramer and kids). She was always up for anything with a smile on her face. Her favorite times were spent at the Bungalow in Boisdale, and on various adventures with her children. Her joyous laugh will be remembered by all who were lucky enough share one with her.
Sharon is survived by her loving children, Shannon, Kristen, and Ernie Morrison (Devon MacDonald)
Sharon is predeceased by husband, Ernie Morrison of Sydney River; parents, Ronald and Adelaide Clancy of North Sydney, and siblings, Marie MacDonald and Ronald Clancy of North Sydney.
Visitation will be held from 7 - 9 p.m. on Monday, February 4th at Chant Funeral home, and Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5th with Fr. Patrick O’Neill officiating.
In lieu of flowers, we would greatly prefer donations of any kind to the Cape Breton Down Syndrome society.
