It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mary Alice Holloway at the An Cala Palliative care unit in Sydney on Feb 2, 2019 surrounded by her family.
She was born April 11, 1935 in Chignecto to the late Wallace & Levita Blenkhorn
Mary is survived by her five sons, Billy (Bernice), Jim (Donna), Tim (Shelly), Peter, Dougie (Kelly); 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Roxella, Ruth, Stella (Carl) Kaulback; sisters-in-law, Irene & Violet; her good friend, Earl and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was a strong, hard working, determined woman, quick to offer her help to anyone. She enjoyed going to church, going to the Pensioner’s Club & afternoons with the Golden Girls doing their crafts. She loved dancing, bingo, camping, knitting mittens & socks for everyone.
She was preceded by her parents; husband, Bill for 48 years; grandson, Chris; five brothers, Dave, Cecil, Walter, Kenny, Edward & 15 brothers and sisters-in-law.
Their will be no visitation as per her request, there will be a celebration of her life on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, 11 a.m. at the Trinity Anglican church in Sydney Mines. Internment will be at a later date.
We like to thank the Doctors & Nurses at the An Cala Palliative care unit & the Cancer unit. We would like to give a special thanks to her friend, Mary March.
