Passed away suddenly at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Thursday, November 22, 2018, with his devoted wife by his side, Robert Charles Matthews, aged 70 years. Predeceased by his parents Roland and Mildred Matthews and special sister-in-law Loretta Matthews. Leaving to mourn, with fond and loving memories, his wife and the love of his life for 50 years, Patricia (nee Thorne); his daughter Debbie (Guy Marsh); his son Bobby (Christina); grandchildren: Victoria (Ryan), Meghan (Justin), Samantha, Emily, Jacqueline, Olivia and Lil' Bobby; brother Ronald; brothers-in-law: Jim Thorne (Alice), Ken Thorne (Patricia) and Gary Thorne (Kim); nieces, nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Thank you to Dr. Adams, his team and staff at the Cardiac Care Unit at the Health Sciences Centre and Dr. Gardiner, his team and staff of the Surgery Unit at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. Cremation and funeral service have taken place.
