We, the family of the late Laureen Jenkins, wish to thank everyone for their love and support during her illness and our recent bereavement. To those who visited, phoned, e-mailed, sent letters, cards, sympathy and Mass cards, gift cards, monetary and charitable donations, flowers and food, thank you so much.
Thank you to the staff of the CBRH particularly the oncologists and radiation therapists, chemotherapy unit staff, palliative care doctors and staff and the An Cala unit personnel who supported Laureen during her last days. Special thanks to Dr. Phil Curry and Dr. Craig Stone for extending her life and to Dr. Curry for his ongoing care and compassion. Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Doug Kohlsmith for his steadfast care, compassion and personal interest. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Northside General, especially everyone on 5 East, who gave exemplary care and provided so many extra touches.
A very special thank you to respiratory therapist, Jerry Buffett, who worked tirelessly to help and sustain her and visited at home. Thank you to all of the hospice volunteers, paramedics, VON, palliative care home support staff and the Northside Homemakers.
Many thanks to the staff of Capital Drugs, Sydney Mines, Sobeys Pharmacy, North Sydney, Health Park Pharmasave, Sydney, Stone’s Drug Store, Baddeck and the Canadian Red Cross.
Heartfelt thanks to Troy Wilson and office staff and the staff of Wendy’s restaurant, North Sydney, for your ongoing love and support, Reen thought of you as her family. To the staff of Sydney Mines Middle School, whose support helped in so many ways and continues to do so, thank you.
Thank you to the staff of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home for your compassion and professionalism. A sincere thank you to Fr. James Oliver, Holy Family Parish who presided over the Funeral Mass and also, to the pianist and choir. Thank you to Lucy and Stuart MacNeil for your poignant gift of music and song and to Cathy Viva and John Scott for the scripture readings. Many thanks to the CWL for the delicious luncheon which helped sustain us through a difficult day.
We thank everyone who attended the wake and or Funeral Mass and to those who travelled to join us in bidding Laureen farewell (for now).
