Clipperton, Jon William (1946-2009)
Following a long journey, Jon William Clipperton has passed peacefully on Aug. 30 to join in the “song.†Jon has left us with a true legacy of love, family and friendship. He leaves behind his best friend and life partner Marie (Reynolds) and his true gems, Deanne (Todd Smith) and Doni (Martha), who will carry on his love of life and the lessons he taught. The blessings of his life and a great source of pride are his grandchildren – Regan, Ciaryn, Nolan, Jaidyn, Madisyn and McKenzie, who continue to hold Popa’s hand and walk.
Predeceased by his parents, Graydon (1978) and Doris (1999) and father-in-law Reginald Reynolds (1987), Jon will be sadly missed by mother-in-law Anne Reynolds and his siblings Gary and Cathy of Streetsville, Ont., Rob and Peggi of Ottawa, Michael of Barrie, Ont., and Carol and John of Brampton, Ont. Also mourning Jon’s passing are Marie’s siblings, Edward and Patsy of Sudbury, Ont., Regina of Sydney, N.S., Debbie and Tom of Sydney, N.S., and Kelly and Orville of Halifax.
Nieces and nephews with loving memories of their special Uncle Jon are Kelly and Joseph, Kate, Kasey and Erin (and daughters Ariel and Eilis), Joshua, Drew, Maddie, Emma, Shawn, Neil, Ryan, Rhiannon, Meghan and David, Tara, Joel, Shannon, R.J., Olivia and Julia.
Jon and his family were privileged to have the support of special friends, family, colleagues and health care professionals who helped us on our journey. We would like to thank all of you for the part you played.
Jon was President of W.N. Atkinson Insurance Ltd., a member of Streetsville Lions Club and Streetsville United Church. A devoted Streetsville volunteer, Jon served as President/Chair of various professional and health care organizations, as well as being a key player in the development of the Vic Johnston Community Centre and the Streetsville Derbys hockey team. He was a long-time cottage resident at Balsam Lake.
Visitation will be take place at Lee Funeral Home 258 Queen St. South, Streetsville, Ont., on Sept. 1st from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sept. 2nd from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Sept. 3rd at 11 a.m. at Streetsville United Church, 274 Queen St. South, (905-826-1542).
