The family of Martin Joseph Dennis, age 66 of Eskasoni, sadly announce his passing on February 12, 2019 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born in Sydney on November 7, 1952, the son of the late Martin Sr. and Martha (Sylliboy) Dennis.
He was a member of Holy Family parish, Eskasoni. Growing up, Martin loved playing baseball and watching local hockey. He had many hobbies including playing cards, TV bingo, watching wrestling, going for drives and was a fan of the Chicago Black Hawks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Annie Milliea; sons, Tony (Paula), Joe (Betina), Rodney (Carol), Melvin (Bethany); siblings, Marylee, Bridget, Linda, Peter, Esther, Jesse; grandchildren, Jeneva, So’sep, Kapliel, Teena Jo, Alivyah, Vince, Joey, Eli, Journey, Ann, Maria, Nikki, Layla, Alain, Josee, Koeden and Cashius; great-grandchild, Anastacia Rose Dennis; by several godchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Shirley and Angela and brothers, John and Joseph Noel.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, February 16 at 7 p.m. at the Gabriel Center, Eskasoni.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Feb. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church with Fr. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery, Eskasoni.
