John Edward Burton
In Memoriam
John Edward Burton
July 16, 1937 - February 27, 2018
It has been a year, and we miss you Pop’s
The feeling of emptiness just never stops
Your thoughtful wisdom, over the years
Your inciteful opinions, as we sipped a cold beer
There was never a task, that was too big or too small
No matter the issue, you tackled them all
We would often see you, in the garage or outside
Or in your truck, giving a grandchild a ride
You loved when we gathered, for a family event
Being together we knew, just how much it meant
We would sit around the pool, or living room floor
A “wave” from your recliner, before we walked out the door.
Johnnie, Pop’s, Da or Poppy, you responded to all
You were there for us, whenever we called
You left us too soon, but if there is a bright light
Mom now sits on your left, and Darlene on your right
Always Remembered and sadly missed. Love Derrick, Vaughan, Sheldon, Blair, Glenn and families
