Brenda MacLeod
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother
sister and friend on February 24, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born on January 27, 1950, Brenda was the daughter of the late Bernard and Theresa (Walsh) Waye.
Brenda had worked at Sobeys, Jaspers and Swiss Chalet and was an avid bingo player, who enjoyed playing TV bingo and making trips to New Brunswick to play Big Bingo with her friend Rena and family.
Brenda leaves behind two daughters, Neila (Dave) and Tracy (Billy); son, Brent (Shelley); eleven grandchildren and five grand-grandchildren; brother, Dave (Sheryleen); sisters, Lois (Dave), Patsy along with many, nephews and nieces. Brenda also leaves behind many family and friends with whom she spent many nights talking on the phone and laughing.
As per Brenda’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and a chapel service
will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at 2 p.m. with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. A luncheon will
follow at the Army, Navy and Airforce, Smith Street, all are welcome.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer
Ave., New Waterford. Donations in memory of Brenda can be made to the Palliative Care Unit,
