It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Helena “Lena” Marie Chafe (nee Ryan) on March 5th, 2019 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, with her son Paul by her side. Predeceased by her husband Percy J. Chafe (2008), son Percy G. Chafe (2013) and grandson Justin Frampton (2016). Leaving to mourn sons: Harry Chafe (Margie), Paul Chafe (Maureen) and daughter Anne Chafe; grandchildren Holly (Brian), Alex, Nicole and Jessica; great-grandchildren: Grady and Stella (their mother Joan Frampton); sisters: Mary Walsh and Callista Ryan; brothers: Mike Ryan (Dot) and Thomas Ryan (Betty); sisters-in-law: Marjorie Coughlan, Shirley Ryan and Patricia Ryan and families; special mention: Candace, Jade and Carter Clements, Rose and John Power, Cindy Lye, Roger and Peggy, Danny and Maisie Mootrey, Janine Stafford and the Kennedy family, special friends: Joanne Carter and family, Gladys and Nat Hutchings, Linda and Stan Doyle, Gert Kennedy and Nina Leaman (bingo buddies). As well as a large circle of other family and friends. Visitations will take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Friday March 8th, 2018 from 11am-9pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Josephs Parish, Petty Harbour on Saturday, March 9th at 11am, interment to follow at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Cemetery, Petty Harbour.
