The death occurred at The Mount Continuing Care Community on Thursday, March 7, 2019 of James Edmund Power of Charlottetown, age 89 years. Beloved husband of 69 years to Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Power. Father of Gene (Debbie), Mike (Rodie), David (Chris), Kenny (Carol Anne), Bobby (Aletha), Ann MacKinnon (Alan), Mary MacPhee (Fraser), Gary (Noreen) and Allan. Grandfather of Marcy Gregory (Frank), Derek, Angela (Colin), Rob (Nicole), Ryan, Stephen, Kimberly (David), Jamie (Julianne), Colin, Kaitlyn (Marshall), Darren, Robyn, Alexis, JoEllen MacPhee (Jarret), Jared MacKinnon (Meghan), Kaela Carragher (Scott), Brett MacKinnon, Corey MacPhee (Leanne), Nicole MacGregor (Jeremy), Daniel MacPhee (Jordana), Dylan, Tanner and Rylee and 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Mary Ellen (Riley) Reeves; sons Eddie and Gordie; grandson Drew; brothers - Bernard, Everett, Clarence and Arnold Reeves and sisters - Cynthia (Matt White) and Evelyn (Al Riley). Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at The Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, at 10:00 a.m. Interment later at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Provincial Palliative Care would be appreciated. Completion of funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
