It is with heavy broken hearts and overwhelming sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful Mother, our best friend and confidant, Mary Furlong on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by her loving family and close friends. She was adored by all who knew her. She took on the role of mother to many and was always there when you were in a time of need. She continually supported her community and if there was an event taking place, Bingo, card games, fundraisers etc, she was sure to be there. Her undying love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was amazing. She never missed a concert, volleyball game, curling match, race, school awards etc. Her family was the absolute love of her life. She enjoyed everything in life to the fullest. She was the strongest mother who was courageously battling a lengthy illness that never got her down. Getting up every day and facing life with such strong will to ensure she not only enjoyed it, but never missed a thing. Her lifelong best friends and card buddies Pauline, Bunnie, Lorraine, Sheila, Verna and Collette, who were always there for her. Her special Bingo buddy, whom she loved and adored as if she was one of her own daughters, Barb. Her caregivers from Rosemore Home Care over the last year who took such good care of her helping out when her family could not be there, she loved you both, Sharon and Victoria. She is leaving behind a huge circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who were always there to help whenever Mom needed them.
