We the family sadly announce the passing of our best friend, mentor and mother, Josie (Mary Josephine) Wall on March 17, 2019 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Frances Whelan.
Josie was a member of St. Theresa’s Parish. Her pride and joy were her family and getting together with family and friends were most important to her. Josie met the love of her life when she was 16, Gerald and Josie married and raised four daughters and a son in Sydney. After Gerald’s passing in 1992, Josie stayed on in the family home surrounded by her beloved family. She enjoyed a small circle of friends with whom she took bus trips, played cards and BINGO nights.
Josie is survived by her daughters, Valerie (Terry) Nelson, Deborah (John) MacDonald, Pamela Wall (Gary), Barbara Wall (Steve); son, Gerald G. Wall; grandchildren, Meaghan Nelson, Jeff Nelson, Trevor Bernier, Amanda Bernier, Erica Bernier-Smith, Erin Wall and Kyle MacDonald; great-grandchildren, Ella, Brooklynn, Allison, Kelsey, Jessica, Ava, Madison, Landon, Breanne and Bailey.
Josie is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Gerald A. Wall; sisters, Dorothy Gushue, and Mary Smith; and brothers, Michael, Patrick and Edward Whelan.
Visitation will take place at TW Curry Parkview Chapel on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 7-9 p.m.
A funeral service will be celebrated at TW Curry Parkview Chapel on Saturday March 23 at 11 a.m., with Fr. Dennis Lamey presiding. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Harbourstone Enhanced Care.
