It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our sister Catherine Evangeline (Vangie) Aucoin on March 30, 2019 at Harbourstone Extended Care with her family by her side.
Vangie was born on March 25, 1944 to William and Josephine (MacInnis) Aucoin.
Vangie was one of the first clients to work at the KinCenter where she met many new and life long friends. From there she moved on to the Horizon Achievement Center where she continued to develop many new skills which contributed to her 26-year career at Wendy’s Restaurant.
She is most widely known for her outgoing personality, sense of humour and a wide circle of friends who she entertained with her wit and beautifully friendly nature. Vangie was also known for her knitting skills, embroidery which she learned from her mother and of course completing jigsaw puzzles which no one else in the family could figure out. Finally she loved music and to dance. Vangie lived a full life. This is truly a celebration of her life.
She is predeceased by her parents and survived by her sisters, Mary Ellen “Sis” (Jim) Morrison, Shirley Aucoin; brothers, Michael “Gar”, and his wife, Marilyn, and Jerome (Brenda Morrison).
She will be greatly missed by her many other family members and friends.

A very special thank you to the excellent staff at Steelworkers Lane, Harbourstone who quickly became her friends and were so attentive to her needs especially at the end.
A celebration of life will take place at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, on April 3rd. at 2 p.m. with Fr. Dennis Lamey presiding.
