It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear daughter and sister, Monica Catherine Nicholson, 53, at St. Michaels Hospital, Toronto, ON, April 6, 2019.
Monica was born in Glace Bay on October 5, 1965.
She was a long time employee of Supreme Basics, Richmond Hill, ON.
Monica was a very caring soul who went out of her way to help anyone in need. She was an avid Boston Bruins fan. Monica looked forward to her trip home every year to celebrate Halloween. She especially loved to see the little ones in costume and hand out treats to them.
Monica is survived by her mother, Catherine (Morrison); brothers, George (Kim) Scarborough, ON; Rodney, Orangedale, and Florence at home.
Monica was predeceased by her father, George; grandparents, Paul and Mary Nicholson, and William and Mary Morrison. Monica will be greatly missed by her family, aunts, uncles, extended family members, friends and co-workers.
Cremation has taken place. Church service for Monica will be held in July at Immaculate Conception Church followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will take place at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of St. Michaels Hospital for their remarkable care and compassion to Monica and her family during her illness. Special thanks to our cousin Susan Fleming for her assistance during this difficult time.
