Gilbert James Jobe
On April 12, 1979, we lost our Dad two days before his 58th birthday, after his mercifully short battle with brain cancer. Life hurt and shifted for us that cool spring day. Dad's trademark humour and resilience through chronic pain in his later life was our example to go on and be grateful. We have so missed him all these years!. Although his untimely death also widowed our Mom at a young 51, she remained the everlasting "Gick" lover and storyteller: making sure we, and all of his ten grandchildren, would appreciate the special person, veteran, public servant and caring friend to all Dad was. His grandsons Mark James Warren, Adam Gilbert Boyd and James Robert Jobe are honored to be his namesakes. His love and influence will last forever. We hope any extended family and friends of Dad will join us across the miles and raise a toast to gracious Gilbert this weekend...always up for a party, he is sure to be with us all!
