Eric Joseph Drew
We, the family of Eric Joseph Drew, regret to announce his passing on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. Eric passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born October 28, 1963, in Harbour Breton, NL, he was the son of the late Gord and Effie (Bowles) Drew.
Eric was formerly employed with National Sea, Louisbourg, where he worked on the draggers.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Harry.
Eric is survived by his wife, Susan Gillespie; stepdaughters, Laura Martell, South Bar and Ashley Gillespie, Sydney; sister, Daisy Ferguson (Graham), Louisbourg; brothers, Eddie Bowles, Louisbourg, Craig Drew (Yanti), London and Terrance Drew, Louisbourg; grandchildren, Mason, Stephen, and Dawston; great-grandchild, Cullen; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will take place at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Louisbourg on Monday, May 20 from 2-3 p.m., following by a service at 3 p.m., with Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. Interment in St. Bartholomew’s Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
