Clarence William Crouse

CROUSE, Clarence William - 85, Stewiacke, passed away June 4, 2011 peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Stewiacke on August 22, 1925, he was a son of the late Vida and Frank Crouse. He was a dedicated dairy farmer, lifetime shareholder of Farmers Dairy, proud Holstein breeder, and loved his vegetable garden. He was a life time member of Holstein Canada. He served two terms as Director of NS Animal Breeders Co-op, where he also served as secretary. Clarence was a member and active worker of Central Nova Holstein Club and a member of the Sales Committee of the Sale of the East. He was the treasurer of Stewiacke District Federation of Agriculture for 25 years. Clarence was a former member of the Stewiacke Credit Union and past-president of the Central Nova Holstein Club and NS Branch of Holstein Canada and he was also an official Holstein judge. He was an honorary elder of St. Andrew’s United Church, Stewiacke. Clarence is survived by his loving wife Winnie, sons Allen, Paul (Evelyn), Frank (Gail), John (Shari), all of Stewiacke; daughter Wendy McLaughlin (Chris), Shortts Lake; 13 grandchildren, Jeremy, Crystal, Heidi, Jonathan, Sarah, Joel, Hannah, Jordan, Lucas, Felicia, Nicholas, Codi and Jenna; also surviving are brothers Harry (Beth), Folly Lake; Charles (Lorna), Middle Stewiacke; Ronnie (Sheila), Stewiacke and sister-in-law Ruth Wentzell, (Glen), Stewiacke. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Russell and Wilfred. Visitation will take place from 1-3 & 7-9pm today, with funeral service 11am, Wednesday, in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Hwy 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the QEII Hospital, Cardiology Department or a charity of your choice.
