It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Short announce her passing Sunday, June 5th, 2011 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 76 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories; her son: Bruce; daughter: Beverley (Cecil); grandchildren: Amy, Andrew, Vanessa and George; brothers: Eric (Maude) and Jim (Shirley); as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, George; parents: Thomas and Gladys Tapp; brothers: John Elijah and Chesley; and sister, Vera. Granting her wishes, cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Friends and family may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 9th at 10 a.m. from St. James Anglican Church, with Reverend Hannah Dicks officiating. Interment to follow at the family plot. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
