Catherine 'Kaye' Robinson

Catherine 'Kaye' Robinson

Date de naissance : 16 avril 1929

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Catherine (Kaye) Robinson, 90, at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital June 2, 2019 surrounded by all her children, after a brief illness.
Born in Southside Baddeck, April 16, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Annie (Carmichael) Asaph.
As the youngest of nine growing up in Southside Baddeck, at an early age Kaye developed a strong love of animals, at one point even having a pet crow. Kaye was a well-known mail driver for over forty years, often delivering the mail in blizzard conditions. During some of those years she also worked at selling Fuller Brush products and driving her own taxi (Baddeck Taxi).
Kaye is survived by sons, Donald Gordon (DG) and Norman Franklyn (Kari) MacKenzie; one daughter, Catherine Ann MacKenzie; sister-in-law, Mary Asaph (Wilfred); grandchildren, Brittany MacKenzie Fitzgerald (Jeff), Taylor Pierrard (Luke), Aubrey and Ainsly MacKenzie; great-grandchildren, Story Ella and Summit Reign Fitzgerald. Kaye is already greatly missed by her special fur babies, Maddie, Fluffy, Blackie and best friends, Diana D’Arcey and Norma Marchant.
She was predeceased by a son in infancy (1st born); first husband, Donald MacKenzie and second husband, Angus Robinson; sisters, Sadie Asaph, Lottie MacLeod, Reta Watson Comeau and Margaret Hull; brothers, Alfred, Elmer, Johnnie and Wilfred; sister-in-law, Doris (Alfred) and Maxine (Elmer); brothers-in-law, Roy MacKenzie, Charlie MacLeod, Maurice Watson, George Hull and Frank Comeau and several special nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Under the care and direction of MacAskill Funeral Home, Baddeck, NS. There will be no visitation the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Know Presbyterian Church (Grant St.) Baddeck with Rev. Brian MacLeod officiating. At a later date a tree will be planted with her ashes at the family cemetery.
Because of Kay’s lifelong love of animals (cats in particular) donations may be made to the Baddeck and Area Cat Rescue Society and Rocking Horse Ranch, Big Baddeck, NS
