Robert 'Bob' Murphy
After a two-year struggle with a number of health issues Bob is now at peace he passed on June 5, 2019.
He was born Oct. 29, 1946 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia to John Joe and Mercedes Murphy (Dwyer).
He was predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Julia (Sis) Hanrahan, Jane Graham and Betsy MacKay; and his brother, Dennis.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan and her husband and their two children; as well as his brothers, Vince and Johnny (Essie). He also leaves behind his close friend, George and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Bob moved to Ontario in 1962 and worked at Colonial Cookies, Uniroyal and BF Goodrich. He is lovingly remembered for his dry humour and his colourful vocabulary as well as his great love of animals. Bob was always there to take in strays that needed a home - both the animal and the family type. He will be sadly missed by all of his family members.
Cremation has taken place and Bob will eventually return to Cape Breton Island. The family requests that donations be made to the K-W Humane Society in remembrance of him.
There will be a casual gathering of friends and family at his home on Saturday, June 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. If you knew Bob, please drop by to share your memories of him.
