The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, with his family by his side, on Sunday, June 9, 2019 of Arthur H. Coffin of Mount Stewart, age 85 years. Beloved husband of the late Joyce (Jay) and father of Beryl Rossiter (Joe), Kent (Rhonda), Ike (Anne) and Pam Coffin (Paul Johnston). Loving grandfather of Melanie MacGrath (Matt), Travis Rossiter (Ashley), Derrick Coffin and Sara Geldart and 5 great-grandchildren. Art will also be sadly missed by siblings Shirley Affleck (the late Bruce), June Burke (the late Aliston), Barb Simpson (the late Stu), Wilma Hambly (Wayne), Roger (Muriel), Janice Crane (Stephen), Sterling (Helen), sisters-in-law Helen Coffin, Nancy Coffin, June Coffin and Nancy Jay and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Clarence Sr. and Laura Coffin, sisters and brothers Ida Mitchell (Roy), Cora Partridge, Clarence Jr., Keir, Ray and Suzanne Crann (Ray), brothers and sister-in-law Ivan and Gladys Leard, and Carmen Jay. Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. Funeral Wednesday from St. John’s United Church, Mount Stewart at 1:30 p.m. Interment in the Peoples Cemetery, Mount Stewart.
