It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Stanley Kennedy, 53 formerly of Dominion, June 13, 2019 at home. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Pauline (Boone) and the late David Kennedy.
A much-loved son, brother, and uncle, Stan worked various job over the years. He loved music, golf, and in his younger days, acting. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Stan was a generous person, and family was very important to him. His many acts of kindness will always be remembered. Stan will be dearly missed by his loving mother, Pauline Kennedy, whom he adored. Stan is also survived by his sisters, Anne (Regis) McDonald and Mary (Duncan) MacQueen; brother, Robbie (Jo-Ann) McKinnon; aunt, Isabel Kavanaugh; uncle, Francis (Lil) Boone; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews whom he dearly loved.
He was predeceased by his father, David Kennedy, as well as several aunts and uncles.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199)
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Parish, Bridgeport, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Donations in Stan's memory may be made to Mental Health Services though the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation.
