
Hendrikus (Henk) Groenenberg
GROENENBERG, HENDRIKUS (HENK) - Hendrikus (Henk) Groenenberg of Hoyt, NB passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on June 7, 2011 at the age of 85. Born June 7, 1926 in Geervliet, Netherlands. Henk is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years Cornelia (Kety) Groenenberg, one daughter Annemarie Groenenberg (Tom) of the Netherlands, four sons; Kees of the Netherlands, Dirk of Hoyt, NB, Ad (Jose) of Alberta and Gerrit (Marlene) of Hoyt, NB, three sisters; Maria, Rita and Janny, two brothers; Jake and Anton, a daughter-in-law Jitske, eight grandchildren; Iris, Milou, Marcia, Lisanne, Rick, Joost, Leo and Sarah, one great granddaughter Josina , as well as several nieces and nephews and a special homemaker Melanie Webb. Henk served two years with the Dutch military in Indonesia after WWII . Henk was a life long farmer both in the Netherlands growing mainly tulip bulbs, seed potatoes and grain and here in New Brunswick growing seed potatoes in Woodstock. Henk was an active member of the Fredericton Junction Baptist Church. As well as an active member Gladstone Blissville Seniors Club until it closed. Henk and Kety enjoyed traveling in their retirement years, taking trips across Canada and the USA as well as Europe. Henk is predeceased by his parents Dirkje van den Heuvel and Huibert Groenenberg, one son Huibert, one daughter Corrie, two brothers Arie and Gerrit.
Relatives and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home on Friday, June 10, 2011 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm for visitations. Funeral service will be from Fredericton Junction Baptist Church on June 11, 2011 at 11:00 am with the Rev. James Harrison and Pastor Gary Gray officiating.
