The death occurred peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, of Gavin Kenny of Lakeside PE, aged 79. Loving husband of Lucille (nee McDermott), and father to Lucille Carter (Robert), Mary McKenna (Doug), and Gavin Kenny. Grandfather to Bridget, Katie, Liam, Keegan, Clare, and Genevieve Carter, as well as Riley and Quintin McKenna. Also survived by siblings, Janet MacLellan, Zita Ryan, Jay Kenny (Theresa), Martin Kenny (Janet), Kathleen Rafuse, Genevieve McGuigan (Billy) and Maureen Kenny; sister-in-law, Margie McDermott as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Joe and Genevieve Kenny; parents-in-law, Owen and Lucy McDermott; brother, Tom Kenny; and brothers-in-law, Michael McDermott, Charlie MacLellan and Peter Ryan. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell, for visitation on Friday, June 28, 2019, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at St. Lawrence O’Toole Roman Catholic Church, Green Meadows, on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Teresa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gavin’s memory, to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Red Cross. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
