Raymond Wynne JONES

NEW GLASGOW – Raymond Wynne Jones, 88, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by his family. Born in Smethwick, England, he was a son of the late Arthur Hammond and Jenny Jones. At the age of 18 Raymond joined the Royal Army Medical Corps at Aldershot, England, serving as a lab assistant. He immigrated to Canada to work as a lab assistant in the Montreal Jewish General Hospital, where he met is late wife, Nicole. Following, Raymond was employed with McGill University for several years in the Pathology Department, after which he became vice president of Watzka Microscope Company. After his first retirement, he opened and operated, Raynic, a computer sales and service company in Sussex, N.B. After his second retirement, he and Nicole moved to New Glasgow. He was a member of the New Glasgow 55 plus Club, where he greatly enjoyed the friendships he established. “Everybody loved Raymond”, for his wonderful sense of humor, compassion and zest for life. Surviving are his daughter, Cathy (Jose), New Glasgow; son, Peter A., New Glasgow; grandsons, Jose Carlos Angulo Perez, New Glasgow; Chaska Jones, Sarnia, Ont.; brother, John Jones, England; numerous nieces and nephews in England; sister-in-law, Christiane Morisset Anderson, Sainte-Adresse, France; niece, Ann, France. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Mary and Betty; brothers, Ted, Les, Stan, Harold and Bill. In honor of Raymond’s wishes, his family will celebrate his life privately. The Jones family wish to thank Helen MacDonald for the wonderful friendship and support she provided Raymond.
