Maureen Catherine Moynagh

Maureen Catherine Moynagh

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maureen Moynagh at her home in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on July 15, 2019 after a lengthy illness. Born in Montreal, Quebec on September 9, 1952, daughter of Doris Moynagh and the late John Hilary Moynagh, Maureen had a successful career in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in hospitals in Quebec, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island. As well, she spent many years as an Occupational Health Nurse in Ontario and Prince Edward Island. She pursued a career in Outpost Nursing in the Yukon in 1980 and found she was able to tap into her ‘doctor wannabe’. She continued Outpost Nursing in Northern Saskatchewan, Nunavut, and with the Slavey Deh Cho in the Northwest Territories until her retirement in 2017. In 1982 the most precious person in her life arrived, her son, Robin Jeffrey. Jeffrey’s immense grief at the loss of his mother is buttressed by the incredible bond they shared. Maureen is preceded in death by her brother Don Moynagh and nephew Gregg Moynagh. She is lovingly remembered and mourned by her sister Marilyn (David), brothers David (Kerry) and Paul (Ruth), her niece Meagan and her wonderful cousins from both the Cash and Moynagh sides of her family. She will be deeply missed and forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington for visiting hours Friday, July 19th from 4-7 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Church of St. James, Summerfield on Saturday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gregg Moynagh Memorial Fund or to a charity of your choice.
