ROGERS, Roy James of Shortbeach, NS passed away peacefully on July 27, 2019 in Yarmouth Hospital after a brief battle with cancer, with his family by his side. Born Dec 11, 1955 he was a son to the late William and Bessie (Mullen) Rogers of Yarmouth. His earlier working career was for Marine Atlantic on the MV Bluenose & most recent with Atlantic Catch Data as a Dockside Monitor fulfilled his love for salt air and the outdoors. Fizzy handing down his mechanic skills lead to his operating Starrs Road Esso as well. Always proud of his children's accomplishments, his children & animals brought him some of the best moments in his life. Happily, forced to be a farmer once Sean returned from Alberta, he much preferred automobile repairs, hunting, gardening, sandy beaches, rocky shores and Shortbeach sunsets. Carpentry was also amongst his abilities as he constructed his 1st home on Prospect Street and later extensively renovated his home in Shortbeach which he was still working on up to the time he became ill. Roy leaves behind his life partner, Andrea D'Eon; children, Kelly Rogers (Lorrie Moors) Windsor NS, Amanda Rogers (Peter Ertl) Dartmouth NS, Sean Rogers (Amanda Earle) Lake George NS, Jen D'Eon St. John's NL, Katie D'Eon at home; brother, William Rogers (Doreen) & sister Ida Oldford both of Yarmouth; niece, Lisa; nephews, Craig, Billy, Matthew and Michael.
