Andrews, Frederick Mervin “Fred” – 65, Masstown passed away suddenly at home on June 14, 2011. Born in Truro, he was the only child of the late Danny and Elizabeth (Upham) Andrews. He was a farmer for most of his life until a farming accident in July 1994 left him a paraplegic. His remaining years were spent at his beloved home which he built himself. He is survived by his son, Danny, Masstown; daughter, Denise, Bible hill; grandchildren, Cody, Megan, Logan and Taylor; several cousins and aunts. Also his beloved canine “grandson”, Thomas whom he enjoyed feeding cookies to. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his most beloved wife, Doreen. A special thank you to the VON Nurses who have also been a part of Fred’s family for the past 17 years. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 19 from 2- 3 pm with funeral service to follow at 3 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Don MacQueen officiating. Interment in Masstown Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Fred’s memory may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Paraplegic Association of N.
