Stirling Alfred Baudoux, (born 1917 in Stellarton, Nova Scotia)
Died June 20, 2011 at the Kingston General Hospital after a brief illness. Beloved husband of Jean Mackay, forever loved by his children Roger Baudoux (Faye), Marion (John Cheesbrough), Elaine Coderre (Patrick), Holly Turnbull (Marvin). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Daniel (Colleen), Megan, Taryn, Martha, Peter, Breanna, James, Stuart and his great grandchildren Julia, Helena and Benjamin.
Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Bertha, his dear wife Katherine (1993), his brothers Everett (2009) and Royce (1990) and his first born infant son Everett Scott (1943).
Longstanding member of Keith Masonic Lodge, Stellarton, NS, Stirling proudly served his country during WWII with the Royal Canadian Engineers, surviving three assault landings in Sicily, Italy and Normandy. He participated in the liberation of Holland. After the war he served as the commanding officer of 55 Field Squadron in Kingston, ON. Recognized with the Medal of Merit for especially good service to Scouting by the Boy Scouts of Canada, National Council. He served on the Board of Managers at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and was a loyal member of the Saint Andrew's War Veterans Association.
Friends will be received at the Robert J. Reid & Sons Funeral Home, "The Chapel on the Corner", 309 Johnson Street (at Barrie Street), on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 130 Clergy Street East, on Friday June 24, 2011 at 2 pm. Interment at a later date, Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. In memory of Stirling, donations to Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
