Karen Lowther

Date de décès : 22 juin 2011

LOWTHER, KAREN - Karen Lowther (Prevost Clark) passed away peacefully at home with her daughter and family on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at age 68. Born and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick, the Maritimes never left her heart. She met her first husband Joseph Prevost (deceased) in Moncton and they had three children (Shelley, Brian and David). Joe’s career in the military took them to many exciting places and they finally settled in Ottawa. Karen met and married her second love Iain Clark (deceased) in Ottawa. She moved to Thunder Bay in 2003 to be closer to her daughter and to receive dialysis. She courageously endured the effects of three different cancers on her body and soul. Upon receiving the gift of life, a kidney, from her son David in 2009, Karen was able once again to enjoy her favourite past times. Especially family and friends, cooking, road trips (the most recent where she drove herself to Winnipeg to see Norma) and knitting and sewing. Her pride and joy were her three children Shelley Prevost (Roger Lepage), Brian Prevost (Francine) and David Prevost (Sheri Giggey) and her grandchildren: Zachary and Samuel Lepage, Cody and Nicholas Prevost, and Molly and Tabitha Prevost. Predeceased by her parents, George and Marjorie (Trites) Lowther and survived by her brothers Douglas (Marie) of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Wayne (Louise) of Moncton, New Brunswick and her sister Janice Clarke of Ottawa as well as cousins Norma, Arlene, Beverly, Frederic, Bruce and Eric.
Cremation has taken place and at her request, a celebration will be held at a later date in Ottawa. If friends so desire, a donation may be made in Karen’s memory to the Trillium Gift of Life Network (www.giftoflife.on.ca).
