McCARTHY, ISABEL MARGARET - The death of Isabel McCarthy occured at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Friday, June 24th, 2011, at the age of 103. Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Mallaley and the late Elizabeth (Hickey). She is survived by her son, Stanley (Gervance) of Sturgeon Falls, ON; daughters, Bernice Young, of Sault St. Marie, ON, Ethel Miller (Wesley), of Bathurst, Thelma MacMillan, of Fredericton, Veronica McCarthy, of Toronto; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Isabel was predeceased by her husband, Peter; daughters, Marion and Carmel; and sons-in-law, Alfred Young, John MacMillan and Leonard Canning. She was also predeceased by her grandchildren, Terry McCarthy, Candace Young and Keri Miller.
Her funeral was held at Our Lady of the Visitation Church in Benjamin River on Monday, June 27th, 2011. Pall bearers were Bryce MacMillan, Carl Carlson, Gaétan Pelletier, Garth Miller, Nolan Mallaley and Ferron Young. The family wishes to thank Gail LaPointe for her exceptional care, the Palliative Care Unit of the Campbellton Regional Hospital and especially her granddaughter, Dr. Vona MacMillan. Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
