It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of a much loved son, brother and uncle, in Halifax, on Sunday, September 13, 2009, aged 54 years. Bruce is survived by his mother Marie, sister Margaret-Anne (Garth Bennett) and Pamela (Gerry Whelan), all of Halifax; brothers Fred, Vancouver and Brian (Elizabeth Chalker) of Victoria, BC; as well and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Charles (St. John’s, 1990) and brother Larry (Papua, New Guinea, 1986). Bruce was born and raised in Corner Brook, Nfld. but spent most of his adult life working in communications systems and fiber optics in British Columbia (CN) and Alberta (Suncor). Following early retirement in 2008, he spent a year in Victoria reconnecting with his west-coast family and moved two weeks ago to Halifax to live and to reconnect with his east-coast family.
