LAWRENCE, Raymond Edward: Nov 1, 1936- June 25, 2011. Raymond Edward Lawrence was born on November 1, 1936 in Kincaid Saskatchewan and passed away suddenly at the Regina General Hospital on June 25, 2011 at the age of 74. Raymond began his schooling at Jack Creek rural school and continued his education in Hazenmore, Kincaid and Moose Jaw. As a young man he worked for several farmers in the Hazenmore area before undertaking a career in road construction during which he developed a reputation for his skillful operation of heavy equipment on projects in all corners of the Province until 1982. This was followed by his employment with Regina Motor Products until retiring in 1988. He married Frieda Weger on November 19, 1983; they resided in Regina until his passing. Raymond was predeceased by his parents Roy and Kathleen (Nancy), sisters Jessie and Mabel (Rach), and brother in law Ian McLeish. Raymond is loved and remembered by his wife Frieda, step-son John Weger (Carmella Mario), step-grandchildren Heather and Amanda Weger, sisters Lillian McLeish, Jean (Mel) Roemer, brothers Gordon (Shirley), and Gerald (Betti). Raymond is also survived by sisters in law Beth Weger, Kay Kessler, Elsie Fitcher and brother in law Awald Weger. Raymond was also blessed with an abundance of nieces, nephews and cousins throughout western Canada. Raymond loved to read, had an affinity for music and will be remembered for his quiet, meticulous and curious nature, his dry sense of humor and a good measure of stubbornness. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. A special thanks to his friends on the staff of the Classic Buffet who knew and treated Ray so kindly as a neighbor and regular customer for many years. Internment will occur at the Hazenmore Cemetery at a later date. As per Raymond’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. On line condolences to gbke4@sasktel.net
