Edward Albert McCardle
The death occurred at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, July 11, 2011, of Edward Albert McCardle of Middleton, aged 77 years. Born on Sept. 16, 1933, Edward was a son of the late Albert McCardle and the late Norma (Tierney) McCardle. He is survived by his wife Kathleen "Kay" (nee MacAleer) and the following sons and daughters: Allison (Joyce) St. Albert; Michael, Summerside; Cathy (Wayne) Mallet, Fredericton, N.B.; Gerard (Linda), Summerside; Christopher (Lisa), Kinkora; and Timothy (Kim), Middleton. Survived by 15 grandchildren, Allison - Kyle; Michael - Colin, Krista & Lincoln; Cathy - MacKenzie, Matthew, & Amanda; Christopher - C. J, Brooke, Shaelynn & Tyson and Timothy - Kaitlynn, Bradley, Madison and Brianna; two greatgrandchildren, Cameron and Karson McCardle; brothers and sisters Elizabeth (Ken) Stewart; Margaret (Gary) Hedges; Virginia (Garth) McCarvill; Joe (Connie) McCardle; Kevin (Marian) McCardle; Patricia & St. Clair McCardle and Beatrice (Rick) Hartinger. Also survived by the following sisters-in-law: Myrtle and Joyce McCardle, Helen McAleer, Shirley (Leo) McCarthy; Colleen (Melvin) Larkin; Darlene (David) MacKinnon and brother-in-law John (Camilla) McAleer as well as Carol MacDonald, mother of Colin, Krista and Lincoln andmany nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents Albert and Norma McCardle; brothers Wilfred, Johnnie and Timothy McCardle; sister Suzanne and brothers-in-law Allison McAleer, Ralph MacFarlene and Stephen Walsh and mother-in-law and father-in-law Wilfred & Eileen McAleer. Remains resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora with visiting hours Thursday, July 14, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Friday, July 15, at St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora with funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Donations in Edward’s memory may be made to St. Malachy’s Cemetery Fund or Critical Care Unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown.
