Georgie Elizabeth Tuplin Nunn, 81, of Chester, N.S., passed away July 13, 2011. Predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Al Nunn, and her parents, Jean and George Tuplin, Ellerslie, P.E.I. Georgie is survived by daughters: June Nunn (John Hennessey - P.E.I.), Jeanie Pew (Howdy), Barbie Nunn-Porter (Tim Harris), all of Chester, and son Dr. Robert Nunn (Rowena) Chester and Halifax, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson, sisters Frances Williams (Jack) Mermaid, P.E.I., and Myrna Chapman (Don) Ellerslie, Uncle Sterling Smith, Moncton, N.B., sister-in-law Marie Nicholson (Cecil) Milton, P.E.I., brothers in-law Bill Nunn (Alma) Kensington, and Clayton Nunn (Carol) Summerside. Georgie attended Prince of Wales College, Charlottetown, and was a proud graduate of the VG Hospital nursing program, Halifax, class of 1951. Georgie and her husband Al settled in Chester in 1952 and opened Chester Pharmacy, which Al operated until his retirement in 1987. Georgie enjoyed her Nauss Point home, golf, curling, afternoons at Freda's Beach, village strolls and in recent years, her Thursday hooking friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 17, Chester United Baptist Church, King St., Chester, N.S. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chester Playhouse or ProKids, Chester, would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Davis Funeral Home, Chester, N.S.
