Mary Francis age 68 of the Admiral, Saskatchewan district died on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre, Shaunavon, Saskatchewan following a battle with cancer. She was born on the family farm at Admiral on March 19, 1943 and received her education at the Admiral School. She worked for her father until she began working for Mrs. Alma Francis where she met her future husband Ralph Francis. They were married at Swift Current, Saskatchewan on December 3, 1975. Farming was Mary’s life and even after she was fighting cancer, she continued with her farming responsibilities. She loved cooking and gardening. Her faith and her church were very important to her. She loved the color purple and when you see purple, everyone will think of Mary. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph on December 8, 2006, her parents Wilfred and Wilma Buckingham, brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Dianne Buckingham, sister-in-law Keitha Francis, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Helen and Walter Cowan, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Fred and Eileen Francis, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Dora and Marvin McCann and her sister-in-law Lorna Weiss. She is survived by her daughter Linda and son Walter, both of Admiral, brother and sister-in-law Clifford and Marlene Buckingham of Melfort, sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Harold Gray, sister and brother-in-law Mildred and Fred Wilson, brother and sister-in-law Art and Kathy Buckingham all of Swift Current, brother-in-law Bob Francis of Cadillac, brother-in-law Ken Weiss of Maple Creek, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services were held from Admiral Bible Camp at Admiral on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Housek officiating. Pastor Fred Wilson delivered the eulogy. Interment took place at Admiral Cemetery. Ushers were Hugh McDonough and Norm Galey. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon (www.Binkleys.com) was in charge of the arrangements. Honorary Pallbearers were Dennis and Joyce Towle, Garnet and Florence Meyers, Neil and Ruth Barr, Frelan and Donna Saunders and Wilmer Saunders.
