The death occurred at his home in Regina, Sask., on September 15, 2009, after a three-year battle with cancer, of S.E. Lockhart, W.O., Ret’d, veteran of the Korean War, having served also in Europe and various parts of Canada during his 35-year military career.
Born in Coleman on Nov. 6, 1927, Edward was the son of the late Stanford and Lily (Mitchell) Lockhart.
He is survived by his wife Hedy (Matthews) of Regina, who lovingly cared for him during his illness; his daughter, Cheryl, Thunder Bay, Ont.; his son, Larry (Karen) and grandson, Paul, Winnipeg, Man.; stepdaughters, Laurie and Lynn and their families; brothers, James (Frances) and Art (Miriam), of Summerside; and sister, Priscilla (Bennett, deceased) Clough, Charlottetown. Edward was predeceased by his first wife, Wanda (Zahorski), of Regina; and brothers, Russell and Bannie of Coleman.
