CLEVELAND, ELIZABETH M. (BETTY) - 1926 - 2011 - Miramichi - Elizabeth Maude (Betty) Cleveland, widow of the late Glendenning M. Cleveland, of Murray Street, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at the age of 84. Born in Saint John, on August 28, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Bessie (Dempsey) Speight. She was a homemaker; a former employee of the C.A.N.E.X. at the former CFB Chatham; a member of St. Andrews United Church; a member of the Pioneer Senior Citizens Club, Miramichi. She is survived by three sons, Dan Cleveland, of New Glasgow, N.S., Dennis Hyde (Angie), of Chalk River, Ont., Kenneth Cleveland (Martha), of South Oromocto Lake; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Glen, in 2009; one sister, Melrose P. Hyde.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, Miramichi, on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, on Friday, July 29, 2011, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery, in Saint John. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
