Leo Riley

The death of Leo Riley, age 90, of Springhill, occurred at the Highcrest Nursing Home on Friday, July 29, 2011.
Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late George and Mary-Jane (McManaman) Riley.
A veteran of World War II he served in the Canadian Army in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Holland with the First Canadian Survey Regiment. After the war he worked at various occupations in the Springhill area. A generous good hearted man who was an avid historian, he enjoyed people. He was an avid gardener.
The last surviving member of his immediate family he will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by brothers and sisters, John, Mike, George, Florence and Mary.
Leo's remains have been cremated under the direction of the A.H. Brown Funeral Service, Springhill (597-2361), from where a memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 2 pm. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 pm until the time of service. www.brownsfuneralhome.com
