Norma Marjorie Richard, 79, of Springhill Junction, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late John and Mabel (White) Meekins.
Norma was a dedicated member of the St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir, and participated in the CWL. Her life revolved around her family, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Joseph Richard, Springhill Junction; daughter, Nora St. Peter, Kemptville, ON; son, Joseph, Amherst; 6 grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel, Steven, Dustin, Sarah and David and great grandchildren; sister Mary (Jack) Rowett, Springhill Junction.
She was predeceased by a son David; brothers, Jimmy and Jack; sisters Dorothy Porter, Thelma Pyke, and Doreen Putnam.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 2 pm, Father David MacDonald officiating at the St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Springhill. Burial will follow in the North Street Catholic Cemetery, Springhill.
