CHURCH, ROSEMARY - It was a beautiful Sunday morning when Rosemary Sandra (Crawford) Church of Fredericton went to be with her Lord and Saviour. She passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on July 31st, 2011.
Born in Fredericton on January 2nd, 1944, Rosemary was the only daughter of Percy and Winifred (Dunphy) Crawford. She grew up in Devon and graduated from Fredericton High School in 1962. Rosemary married her beloved husband, John, in 1964. Rosemary earned her teaching credentials from UNB and went on to teach at Atlantic Business College. She taught at FHS for most of her teaching career, retiring in 2009. Rosemary was a devoted Resource Teacher who made a difference in the lives of many students over the years. She developed many wonderful friendships with her colleagues, including her "Golden Girls" from the years in the Business Department. Rosemary was an active member of Union Street Baptist / Devon Park Baptist Church and served in various ministries over the years. The prayer support from her brothers and sisters in Christ was a constant source of comfort and strength during Rosemary's years of battling cancer. Rosemary was predeceased by her parents, as well as two infant brothers. Along with her husband, she is survived by her daughter Mary Beth Wilson (Peter) of Fredericton, son Doug (John Hamers) of Toronto, and grandchildren Taylor, Christian, and Danae Wilson of Fredericton. Those who knew Rosemary remember her for her kind spirit, ever-positive outlook, and sense of adventure. She and John loved to travel and were usually "on the road" to somewhere. Special thanks to Dr. Sydney Grant and the wonderful nurses and staff of Palliative Care at DECH. The tender care and compassion shown to the entire family was a special blessing during a most difficult season.
