McLAUGHLIN, Mary Blanche “Nan” – 81, Economy, passed away peacefully, Friday evening, August 5, 2011, in The Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro. Born August 22, 1929, in Economy, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Elta (McLellan) McLellan. Nan’s greatest love was children. Mary always held an open heart and open home to her own children, grandchildren and those of the community. She never liked to see a child go without. She was a generous and loving person who will be sadly missed. Mary is survived by her sons, Benjamin (Anne), British Columbia; Miles (Carol), Lower Economy; William (Judy), Robert (Debbie), Economy; Charles, Alberta; Bradford (Holly), Economy; half sisters, Doris Theriault (Norman), Miscou, New Brunswick; Mary May White, Douglastown, New Brunswick; 14 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was predeceased her husband, Lloyd; sisters, Helen Scott, Barbara Suttis, Kathleen Akerman, Jean in infancy; brother, Donald. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011, in Economy United Church, 3360 Highway 2, Economy, from where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2011, Reverend Don MacQueen officiating. Interment in Economy Cemetery. Reception will follow in Economy Recreation Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory to Economy Cemetery are welcomed.
