Frederick Coleman Keigan, 73, a resident of the Northside Community Guest Home, North Sydney, formerly of Sydney Mines, passed away peacefully at the guest home on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011.
Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the late Mary Anne (MacNeil) and Frederick Keigan.
He is survived by his daughters, Bernadette (Brian) Shannon, New Glasgow, and Maureen (Steve) MacIsaac, Dartmouth; his sister, Corrine (George) MacDougall, Sydney Mines; his three grandchildren, Stephanie MacIsaac, Laura Shannon and Colin Shannon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rosalind Dolhanty.
There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Thomas John officiating.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
