It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my loving husband, John Norman Burk, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, aged 48 years, one day after celebrating our fourth wedding anniversary. John quietly went home to join his parents with Jesus. Born in Summerside, he was the only child of the late Norman and Areta (Gamble) Burk. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Cindy (Russell) Burk; children, Chris and Holly Burk, Chetwynd, B.C.; step-children Amy, England; Catherine, Saint John, N.B.; and Jeremiah, Isaiah and Elijah Henderson, all at home; five step-grandchildren; aunt, Isobel Henderson, Edmonton, Alta.; several cousins and many friends. For over 20 years John’s voice could be heard on the airwaves, as a radio broadcaster, and he was a well-known D.J. for over 25 years. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Tuesday, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Interment in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Monday from 6-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Trinity United Church or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
