John Low

Date de décès : 15 août 2011

LOW, JOHN (JACK) MILLAR - Peacefully, with his beloved wife by his side, Jack passed away on August 15, 2011, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg at the age of 97. Left to mourn his passing is his wife Irma, his two sons Jack (Sue) and Bob (Diane); his stepson Jack and stepdaughter Teresa. Jack will be especially missed by his six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, five step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Jessie, sisters in law Dorothy, June (Mac), Elizabeth (Tom), Carole (Jack) and Lynne; brother in law Eugene (Shirley); as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Jack is predeceased by his first wife Irene (almost 50 years), parents John and Maggie Low and his sisters Rae Kerslake and Marge Low. Jack was a very special person and loved by all who knew him. He was an energetic sports enthusiast, playing soccer, bowling, curling, golf, water skiing and boating. Jack was a very generous, kind and patient man. He loved his families, his first through Irene and his second inherited with Irma. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling including cruising and golfing expeditions. Jack's passion was his
cottage at Falcon Lake, spending all available weekends, holidays and summers there. He worked hard, not only during his career but at his cottage, where he was known as Mr. Fix-it. There was nothing he couldn't repair, be it electrical, plumbing, outboard motors, docks, roofs and more. He was a CMA and the General Manager of Johnston Terminals until his retirement. Jack's sense of humour was extraordinary and he shared it with all. Due to illness Jack has spent the last 10 months at Parkview Place. We would like to thank all who took such great care of Jack and for the love he was given.
To celebrate Jack's life, a service
(followed by a reception) will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 19, 2011
