Eric George Wright
62, of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 24, 2011, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Saint Jean, Quebec, he was the son of the late George and Bertha (MacDonald) Wright.
Eric was a true outdoors man, who loved everything nature had to offer. He was an avid canoeist and enjoyed sharing many canoe trips with friends. He enjoyed spending time volunteering with Duke of Edinburgh Awards and more recently at the Lunenburg Fisheries Museum. He was retired from the military after serving over 30 years and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 24, Bridgewater. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Eric is survived by his wife, Marland Kenny; daughter, Michele (Bobby) Stevenson, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; sons, Christopher Wright, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; Craig (Brittany Stephen) Wright, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; grandchildren, Katelynn, Denver, Blake; sister, Barb (Wayne) Varner, Lower Sackville; brother, Greg (Carolyn) Wright, Dartmouth; half sisters, Joan Flynn, Montreal, Quebec; Ruth Allen, Brampton, Ontario; along with several nieces and nephews. Stepchildren, Mary Kenny, Victoria (Chris Cudmore) Kenny, Jackie (Josh Stanley) Kenny, Karl Kenny, Michael Kenny, all residing in Charlottetown, P.E.I.; step grandchildren, Hayden, Lucus, Owen, Olivia, Tayah.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, August 29, in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, Rev. Ron Appleton officiating. There will be one hour visitation prior to the service in the church starting at 1 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Prince Edward Island.
