It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the sudden passing of Gerald Guillena on Sept. 1, 2011.
He was the son of the late Joseph Guillena and Anne (Couture) Guillena of Sydney.
He was employed for years at Scotia Wholesale, first as a shipper, then later to become manager. He was also a faithful caretaker at St. Theresa’s Church, Sydney.
Besides his mother he is survived by; wife, Myrna (Axworthy) Guillena; sons, Peter, Roger and Kerry; brother, Joseph and one granddaughter, Isabella.
Besides his father he was predeceased by his brother, Clifford.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St. Sydney. Funeral mass will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 5, 2011 at St. Theresa’s Church with Fr. James Oliver officiating. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerald’s name can be made to a foundation of choice.
