BAMFORD, ETHEL CHRISTINA (CHASE) - With sadness, the family and friends of Ethel Bamford advise of her passing on September 1, 2011 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Ethel was the daughter of the late Allen and Margaret Chase (Murdoch) and was born in Fredericton, N.B. on February 7, 1920. She is predeceased by her husband, Harry Bamford, in 2004, her sisters Louise Harding, Evelyn Damery, Marjorie Green, and brothers, Allen Chase and Fred Chase. She is survived by her son, Michael, of Saint John, N.B., her brother, Archie Chase, of Mississauga, Ontario and many nieces and nephews. Ethel had a long and happy life and was active in various organizations during the years she and her family resided in Montreal, Quebec and with St. Matthew's Parish upon her return to Saint John in 1974. She had a wonderful sense of fun and loved to cook and entertain. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Ethel is resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. Visiting will be held on Monday, September 5, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass celebrating Ethel's life will be held at St. Matthew's Parish Church, Grand Bay-Westfield, N.B. on September 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of the donor's choice are appreciated.
