Pearl Trombley passed away peacefully on September 3, 2011 at the age of 93.

Pearl leaves to mourn her passing her granddaughter Connie Mingus (Stephen), and her two great granddaughters Abigail and Erin Mingus, all from Findlay, Ohio USA, as well as her sister Jessie Fleming of Kamloops, sisters-in-law Grace Clapperton, Jean Clapperton, and Dode Clapperton, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pearl was sadly predeceased by her husband Joe in 2004, her daughter Audrey Strelow in 1999, son-in-law Dave Strelow in 2009, brothers Wallace, John, Duncan, Russell (WW11), Gordon, Kenneth, George (infant), and sisters Alice, and Beatrice.

Pearl was one of 11 children of John and Isabel Clapperton of Kamloops.

She worked as a dietician at the Tranquille Sanatorium in 1939-1940 and saved enough money to get to Vancouver on her motorcycle to attend The Moler System of Schools and graduated from the Hairdressing and Beauty Culture in 1942. While employed by the Elizabeth Arden Company she was awarded the gold scissors award for outstanding work. After working in Whitehorse, Atlanta, Washington, Michigan, she came back to Canada and opened her own shop, Howard Beauty Salon in Trail, BC. Eventually moving back to Kamloops and working at Royal Inland Hospital. On moving to Penticton she met Joe and married in 1973. There she volunteered with Ladies Auxiliary, PGH, and Skaha Lake Ladies for many years.

Pearls interests over the years included skiing and snowmobiling, as well as camping, fishing, and her flower garden.

At Pearl's request she will be laid to rest beside her sister Alice in Kamloops at the Hillside Cemetery.

A Graveside Service will be held on September 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.

A reception is to follow at the Mount Paul United Church, 140 Laburnum St. North Kamloops. (behind John Todd School)
